Anyone care for a MINT?

Economist Jim O'Neil, formerly of Goldman Sachs, first dubbed the four nations of Brazil, Russia, India and China the BRICs, back in 2001. Back then he made one of the boldest long-term calls - that these nations would be the major drivers for future global economic growth. His prediction has, for the most part, come true. The BRIC's have blossomed and are now some of the most important emerging markets. Since then they have evolved to BRICS, with the inclusion of South Africa. 

O'Neil's has now established another group that is dubbed MINTs. They components of MINTs share many characteristics with the former BRIC leaders. If history is any indication of what's to come, the MINTs could be some of the best portfolio plays for the next decade.
